Our Story

How We met

Our love story has all the elements of a romantic movie. The setting was a bustling McFIT gym in the heart of Naples, Italy. It was August 2018, and Theresha (or “T”, as we affectionately call her) was busy with her workout when a handsome bodybuilder, Abou, approached her, drawn by the intriguing tattoo of Africa on her shoulder. But language was a barrier; Abou spoke in Italian, then in French, and T could only shake her head. As he didn’t speak English, he retreated.

A few days later, T received a direct message from Abou on Instagram. With the help of a gym employee and friend, Abou had managed to find T’s full name. T made him wait a few days before responding, but their virtual connection flourished, thanks to Google Translate. They decided to meet for coffee at the renowned “Hotel Romeo”.

Engagement

Their first date was a mix of laughter, romantic gestures, and Google Translate. But Abou soon insisted, “No, just talk and I will learn English.” Day by day, he began to grasp the English language. Their bond deepened as they explored Italy and other close countries.

Then came the unforgettable moment: Abou proposed to T on her birthday, July 4th, in Budapest. But not before asking her father’s blessing. Even though her family was halfway around the world, he made sure they were part of the proposal. T and Abou tied the knot in Italy on September 5, 2019. They were blessed with their daughter, Ariyah Diallo, on September 27, 2021. Now, they’re eager to celebrate their love with family in Orlando this year, and we can’t wait to share this joy with all of you.

Love knows no boundaries or language. It’s a connection of hearts, and for us, it was a journey of learning, growing, and falling deeper in love every single day. Here’s to our love story that started in the gym and now stretches across the globe.”
